MANAGED CARE E&O LIABILITY

Errors and Omissions liability exposures in the Managed Care industry have been constantly evolving since the development of the first HMO plan.  With the passage of Health Care Reform legislation the Managed Care business environment and the exposures associated with all of these changes will continue to challenge Managed Care Organizations for years to come.  All types of Managed Care Organizations need a Managed Care E&O insurance policy with the breadth of coverage designed to address these emerging exposures, underwritten by a company that understands their industry.    The staff at Chatham Insurance Services has the underwriting expertise to understand these exposures.  We have a Managed Care E&O policy through Travelers that will provide you with the comprehensive coverage that your clients need to keep up with the changing landscape of Managed Care.

Together with Travelers, CIS has developed a Managed Care coverage that can be added to the Wrap+ Common Terms and Conditions written on an admitted basis.  The admitted policy is currently approved for use in 44 States and the District of Columbia.  For states that have not approved the new product, we have our existing Managed Care E&O Liability Plus+ Policy available on a non-admitted basis.

This state-of-the-art Wrap+ Managed Care E&O Liability policy is underwritten by CIS on behalf of Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America, an issuing company of Travelers and offers the same consistent language, terms and conditions as their other Wrap+ products.  Purchasing all of your clients management liability products from one insurance carrier with consistent language and the financial strength and stability of Travelers provides your clients with the best possible protection in the event of a claim.

All our Managed Care E&O products provide coverage for defense costs and damages (awards and settlements, including punitive damages, where insurable) arising out of allegations of errors or omissions in the performance of Managed Care Activities of the Insured Organization and Insured Persons.  In addition, the policy provides coverage for direct and vicarious liability for maintaining the confidentiality of information regarding Medical Services and limiting the release or use of such information in conformance with requirements of law.  Coverage also includes vicarious liability for the performance of, or failure to perform a Managed Care Activity, the rendering of or failure to render Medical services and any actual or alleged Sexual Activity.  Coverage for all our product offerings is available on a Reimbursement or  Duty to Defend basis with Defense Expenses included within the limit of liability.

See the specific product pages for more information, applications and policy forms.
